Saw Avatar this week..I'll be honest, the effects were awesome! The story on the other hand...Not super amazing or anything. Something like Sci-Fi Pocahontas with blue people. Not a whole lot of character development either..lots of sight seeing.
The world they built looks great but I wish there were more nighttime scenes. The whole forest or jungle or whatever glows at night and it looks amazing...Kinda hard to watch the day scenes cause I wanted it to turn back to night.
The story was decent and it kept you interested but there was not a whole lot of feeling to the movie...well what I mean to say is...let me put it this way. When something horrible and tragic would happen, I would not find it moving me in anyway. I didn't really feel sad at sad scenes or mad at scenes where an injustice would happen. Just didn't click with the characters really. If your a sci-fi fan or even an effects fanatic then I bet you'll love it though.
A decent movie overall but best movie of the decade? Not at all really. Pixar's Up is miles ahead of Avatar as far as best movie of the decade.
Also I'll be taking art classes starting this week. I've never been good at traditional art so hopefully I can learn the skills I may need from this.
I've been thinking a lot about a story for a possible movie or something lately. Never actually finished a story in any form...ever so it's a lot of new stuff to think about..but a big part of life is in learning new things so here I come story!
Usually the stories I come up with are sorta creepy. Lately I've been thinking about making something more...blissful?..hmmm
